Depending on the needs of the student, the classes can be integrative, striving to integrate all the different aspects into a great, high-quality artistic expression, or can be more focused on particular aspects.
The research I have conducted in the past two years is focused on enhancing the performer’s expressivity and has been awarded the research prize of the conservatory where I studied. I have been investigating matters of technique (vocal technique, sound, dynamics, phrasing) but also the mental training part of performing: being comfortable with vulnerability, grounding exercises, centering exercises and much more. I believe that strong performances are made of good technical skills as well as good mental training. Adding these insights to my musical experience as a performer and composer definitely enriched me as a musician and as a teacher.
As I started out as a pop singer, then studying jazz, I work easily with both genres and with anything in between: r&b, soul, indie, blues, folk.
The lessons take place in person in Groningen (The Netherlands), or online. Contact me for more information and to book a trial lesson, to see if we could be a good fit!
